Peanut butter plant
To go with your chocolate garden... Melianthus major (Peanut butter plant). It's a weird, dramatic shrub with large, serrated leaves. And yes, it really smells like peanut butter. Zone 8.

Beautiful photo of the Melianthus major. I have a very happy one in my less-than-year-old front garden, in foothills near downtown L.A., that is stuffed with Mediterranean plants, gravel paths and recirculating fountain sitting in a gravel-filled pond liner where gravel paths intersect. I love the drama and color and texture of the Melianthus, but now in hot August it has a bad infestation of white fly. Any ideas for getting rid of them?
